My name is Jennifer Christensen. I am a senior at Iowa State University and a student of Dr. Lee Honeycutt’s English 313.
I will graduate from Iowa State in May 2008 with a degree in English. I declared an emphasis in rhetorical studies and minors in Spanish and technical communication. Next year will bring a lot of excitement and the big, scary ‘real world.’ I do not have concrete plans at the moment. I am applying to law school and AmeriCorps. What do I want to be when I grow up? I would like to be a big help to someone, anyone.
I grew up on a farm outside the small town of Riceville, Iowa. I am number six of seven children. When I was fourteen, we moved to Ogden, Iowa so my mom could finish her degree at Iowa State. My mother is a wonderful woman. My favorite thing to do is spend time with my family, all fifteen of them (counting spouses, nieces, and nephews).

This is an ancient picture of my family. (Left to right, top row: David, Dad, Mom, Caleb (el bebe), Jacob; Bottom row: Rachel, Jennifer, Joseph, and William.)
I graduated from Ogden High School in 2004. I started at ISU in the Spring of 2005 after a semester at the University of Iowa where I was a biology major. I thought I might like to be a doctor (an oncologist, actually) and Iowa City is where I learned that I did not, in fact, want to be a doctor (or an oncologist).
And now I’m here in English 313. On the left you will see links to my résumé, some of my writing, and a few photos.
